Products for life: our promise!
Every time you use your Klean Kanteen instead of a disposable product, you are standing up to the throwaway mentality. By using a Klean Kanteen regularly for 3 years, you can prevent a lot of disposable waste. Imagine the benefits of using the same Klean Kanteen for five, ten or even fifteen years!
Because making a sustainable product like a Klean Kanteen has a carbon footprint, we encourage people to keep using the same Kanteen for as long as possible. We make it easier to extend the life of your Klean Kanteen with replaceable and repairable parts, versatile lids, and convenient repair kits.
Simple tips to make your Kanteens last longer:
Replace worn parts
Ensure your Kanteen lasts a long time by taking good care of it and replacing worn parts, such as seals. By maintaining and repairing your Kanteen, you reduce its environmental footprint compared to disposable products.
After just seven weeks of use, the 27oz Classic Kanteen has offset approximately the same carbon emissions as the average consumption of bottled water over the same period. Imagine how much better our planet would look after years of reusing your favorite Kanteen. Check out our Klean Kanteen Care Kits .
Use the dishwasher
If the instructions say you can put your Kanteen in the dishwasher, you can use a lot more soap and water than washing by hand. And if you also use environmentally friendly detergent, you earn extra points!
If you must hand wash your Kanteen, use cold water and turn off the tap while scrubbing. Check out our Care and Use page for more info.
Choose the right product
Vacuum Insulated or Single Wall? If you’re looking for a way to keep your hot drinks hot and cold drinks cold for a loooooong time, vacuum insulated is the way to go. But if you want something lighter and with a smaller carbon footprint, single wall is the way to go.
Recycle
Klean Kanteens are built to last a lifetime, but sometimes life gets tough. Want to part with your Kanteen? Can’t pass it on to someone who can use it? You can recycle your water bottle! Most metal recyclers will accept the stainless steel bottle. Caps and lids will require a specialized recycling center.
