Surfrider Foundation acts as an authority in three areas of expertise: marine litter, water quality and public health, coastal management and climate change.

Through campaigns, education, events, projects and partnerships we work on central, local and international objectives, clean water, clean beaches and the protection of swimming/surfing spots.

Canal It Up is working on solving three problems that occur in the Brussels waterways, the canal and the Zenne. These are floating waste, poor water quality and the lack of nature and biodiversity.

To this end, we develop technical solutions, provide information about the problem and raise awareness among as many people as possible by organising 'plastic fishing' kayak trips and other activities in the canal in the centre of Brussels.

We want to upgrade the waterways to a place where animals and plants feel at home, the water is clean and where it is pleasant to stay.

The PLONS project, an acronym for 'PLasticONderzoek in het Scheldestroomgebied', aims to raise awareness among children about the plastic problem in waterways.

The chosen methodology is a citizen science project aimed at Flemish and Zeeland primary school children. These children follow an educational, interactive path and are challenged to think about the plastic problem and how to solve it.

Natuurpunt Druivenstreek is working on more and better nature in the grape municipalities of Hoeilaart, Overijse, Tervuren and Huldenberg.

We do this by purchasing and managing nature reserves within 6 vision areas, inspiring the public for nature through educational activities and by entering into discussions with policy makers.
